Since, at the moment I only have time for portrait photography and portrait photography work I'm going to do a week in review post with some of my best shots. This week consisted of one wedding and two portrait shoots. We also had snow and ice and winter weather at the beginning of the week.
On Thursday I had a fifty year anniversary shoot in Marlow which was great. I enjoy meeting couples who have been together for that long; and unlike toddlers there is no chasing or begging for a smile.
Meanwhile I'm finishing this massive wedding edit....
Saturday it rained, rained some more and rained and rained. The show must go on, so the five minute wedding happened as planned at Velma.
Wedding at Hat Top Mesa
So, I have been very fortunate to be able to learn photography these last few years with excellent cameras. I have not devoted a lot of time to learning to work that external flash of mine. I have a nice Canon Speedlite which wasn't cheap that I just haven't used. It's bulky and heavy and I'm not a fan of flash photography. I'm also not incredibly confident using it. But, it was a dark and rainy day on Saturday and I decided to experiment and lessen the noise on my images. I was not unhappy. I used the whole idea of "bounce flash photography"- so no red eyes, just some extra light to illuminate my subjects.
I loved the warm and cozy feel to this wedding.
Check out this awesome shot of an awesome family.
Today I did family photos for an awesome family at their farm. Next week is Thanksgiving and I'm ready for a slowdown. But, I'm booked next weekend too, so I get five days to edit all of the work I'm behind in.
