I ran the Cowtown Half-Marathon in Ft. Worth yesterday. All photos were taken by my husband Ray, so I'll give him credit - actually most of the race photos are his. With two hours of sleep I drove us to Ft. Worth (which is about 140 mile drive one way). And we were there about two hours early to find parking.
All of these people were there to run the Half-Marathon, Marathon or Ultra. Its always amazing when you see how many people run in these! The Ultra runners ran a 50K. I have nothing but admiration for them and their insanity!
at the starting line! A sea of runners!
Running...the first mile! It was so easy then..... ask me how I felt on mile 12.
At the Stock Yards! This is a phone pic. I had to slow down to take a couple. Unfortunately the quality is not there, and I should not have slowed down. My inner photographer is punished when I run these races.
While I ran, they waited. Little boy lost... was miserable all morning. The victim of the Marathon. He had the nerve to complain about how his legs hurt on the way to the car. I threatened to hurt him, he informed me that "that is child abuse Mom" and he was informed that in some countries he would be considered a man now, especially as we discovered his "first whisker" yesterday. Yes, the milestones change at near 13...not nearly as cute as "my first tooth."
Love this photo... man, according to his bib is Tony Erwin carrying a newborn across the finishline at the Cowtown Marathon. He was a half marathon runner. He ran a 2:35 half marathon, and good job to him!
According to her bib lookup on the marathon website, this lady is Lori Pace who ran a 1 hour and 26 minute half marathon! She's over twice as fast as I was! Good job!
Pain! Me at the finish line. Pain!
Beer for runners. Shame, I hate beer. I could've used something strong after that run, but it would've made me sick. So I settled on Wendy's.
Been there, done that...got the T-Shirt. Then it was time to head north to Oklahoma...get a burger and be miserable all the way home. The chills...I hate the chills after a long race. Misery. I know I will be "good" if I can get through a long race without feeling like death.
A great experience! Nothing can beat the feeling of running with thousasnds of people down the streets of a major city. It is addicting. This was my first out of state run! Now, to sign up for another half marathon.
